The month of June featured the crowning of  President Cup winners  for the Women’s Golf Association.

Repeating as champion in the Ladies 9 division was Fran Griffeth. In the Ladies 18 division, Tinky Ulivarri took top honors, replacing 2022 champion Robin Boyd.

In the monthly scramble on June 7, the winning team was Cleo Wersonick, Jeannie Burleson and Boyd. Second place went to the team of Regina Trujillo, Kathy Burrow and Marla Wersonick.

First Gross winners throughout the month in the Ladies 18 Division were Ulivarri and Boyd, with one each, and Kathryn Bayless, with two wins.

In the Ladies 9 Division, winners were Anna Martinez and Griffeth.

Chip-ins were scored by Paula Valdez, Ulivarri and Bayless, with Ulivarri scoring one birdie.

The play day on June 21 emphasized scoring low putts. This resulted in a three-way tie for Tammie Fuller, Edie Redfearn-Moore and Bayless in the Ladies 18 Division, and Ladies 9 winner was Martinez.

On June 28, WGA members assisted with various contests that were held for the participants in the Junior Golf Clinic.

Of special note, several WGA members recently played in the NMSWGA Tournament at Twin Warriors Golf Club.

In Flight 6, Ulivarri was the First Gross winner, with Boyd scoring First Net and Marilyn Jaramillo scoring Second Net in Flight 6.

The July scramble and meeting will be on July 5, following a pro shop lesson. Ace Days for the month are on July 12 and 22.
