Priscilla Perea Freeman

Priscilla Perea Freeman, age 90, a resident of Tomé, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends on Friday, June 17, 2022.

She was born in Albuquerque on June 26, 1931. Priscilla and her husband, Meliton O. Sánchez, are the parents of Milton R. Sánchez and Deborah Ann Larios.

Priscilla was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist church, and a devoted mother first and foremost, and especially loved her role as Nanny. She loved to laugh, and was a friend to all whose lives she touched. She enjoyed Dr. Pepper, hot dogs, chocolates, green chile pizza, huevos rancheros and menudo.

She lost husbands, Meliton O. Sánchez in 1975, and Robert Freeman in 2010.

Priscilla was predeceased in death by Meliton O. Sánchez; parents, Maximo and Guadalupe Perea; Robert Freeman; brothers, David, Elias, Jimmy and Eliseo “Shay”; and granddaughter, Heather Candelaria.

Priscilla is survived by Milton R. Sánchez and Deborah A. Larios (John); grandson, Jacob M. Sanchez; granddaughters, Melissa A. Marsh (Bobby) and Lauren Candelaria; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Diamond, Mickala, London, Trinity, Katie, Isaiah and Nicholas; brothers, Moises Perea (Naomi) and Carlos Perea (Carmen); and many nephews and nieces.

Priscilla wished to be remembered as being faithful to God; a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister; hardworking, loyal and an unselfish friend.

The family appreciates the efforts of Suzette and the kind caregivers of the Center for Ageless Living, and the attentive Ambercare Hospice nurse, Melissa, and social workers. A special expression of gratitude to Mrs. Miller, Genene and Cody for the decades of thoughtfulness, affection and safeguard watch.

Mom/Nanny, a piece of our hearts will forever be missing; there will not be a day that we will not miss you. We love you with all our hearts — always and forever.

Interment services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday July 1, at the Pereas Cemetery, which is at the end of Quiet Lane, Peralta (off La Ladera Road).
