Benjamin Thomas Lujan

Benjamin Thomas Lujan was born on June 19, 1966, to Erlinda and Benny Lujan of Tomé, passed away on May 30, 2023, at his home in Los Lunas.

In 2020, after a 37-year career with the New Mexico Department of Corrections, he chose to retire so that he could care for his wife, Marilyn.

Benjamin grew up in Tomé, where he took care of his siblings and mother while attending school and working full time. Benjamin enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working in his yard and was extremely proud of his yearly garden.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 35 years; his daughter, Samantha and her husband, Nick, and his son, Joseph.

He is survived by his two sisters, Sonia and Elizabeth, and his brother, James.

Benjamin is preceded in death by his mother, Erlinda Otero, and father, Benny Lujan; his stepfather, Flavio Otero, and brother, Michael Lujan.

Services for Benjamin will begin with a visitation at 10 a.m., June 19, followed by the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe 3674 N.M. 47, in Peralta.

At the conclusion of services, a reception will follow at the parish hall.

Pallbearers for Benjamin are his long-time friends, Kenneth Jojola and Nick Cordova.

Funeral arrangements were trusted to Noblin Funeral Service, Los Lunas, 2211-D Main Street SE, Los Lunas, 505-866-9992.
