Our dear mother, Cricela Cordova, passed away May 6, 2023, at the age of 98.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed her. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was an amazing cook.
Mom played the game of life like a hand of poker. She could look into some ones eyes and know what they had in their hand/heart. She never let anyone know just how smart she really was, but diaries and scraps of paper left behind showed us how hard she worked and why she was a successful businesswoman who did it her way.
Cricela was a lifelong resident of Los Chavez, where she raised her family. She was married to Audon Cordova, the love of her life, for 58 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Audon; parents, Carlos and Manuela Garcia; sister, Melinda, and brother, Damacio.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth (Libby) Baca, Frances (Augie) Olivares and Cris (Jim) Kunz; a sister, Emilia (Alex) Romero; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed.
Services were held on May 16 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, followed by burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
