Dinnie M. Tosh

1933-2023

Dinnie M. Tosh

Dinnie (Gentry) Tosh was born to the home of John and Oza Gentry in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico on Oct. 6, 1933. She passed from this life on Dec. 22, 2023, at the age of 90 years.

Dinnie grew up in the Weed, N.M., area, where she graduated high school. Following graduation, Dinnie briefly attended Eastern New Mexico University before marrying Charles (Bud) Tosh on Feb. 21, 1953.

The newlywed couple lived in Belen, and then in Topeka, Kan., for a short time before returning to Belen, where Charles was employed by the AT&SF Railroad. After Charles retired, the couple moved to Clovis to be closer to family.

Throughout her lifetime, Dinnie was a skilled gardener and quilter. She enjoyed growing her own vegetables, roses and other beautiful flowers. An accomplishment she was very proud of was crafting a quilt for both of her children and their spouses, as well as her four grandchildren.

Dinnie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles, her husband of 67 years;  sister, Frankie Lacer; son-in-law, Mark Pinkston; and grandson, Jason Pinkston.

Survivors include her two children, Janice (Cecil) Kendall, of Clovis, and Steve (Julie) Tosh, of Aledo, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott (Anna) Kendall, Kevin Kendall, Samantha (Clint) Foutch and Rachel (Lawson) Priess; and five great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later time, with no additional services planned.
