Edward Chavez

Edward Chavez, age 62, a resident of Jarales, passed away on Oct. 11, 2023, from cirrhosis of the liver.  

Services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Nov. 9, beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m., a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.  

He is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Chavez and Amanda; granddaughters, Destiny and Victoria Moya, and Selena Twiss; great-grandson, Liam; mother, Angelina Zamora Chavez; brother, Andrew Chavez; nephew, Andrew Chavez Jr.; partner, Sandra Marquez; aunts, Rosie Chavez and Marilou Rael; and several other cousins and family members.  

Edward is preceded in death by his father, Louie Chavez; paternal grandparents, Edwardo and Auerilia Pino Chavez; maternal grandparents, Florentino and Sylvia Peralta Zamora; brother, Walter Chavez; and uncles, Sefe Zamora and Edward Rael.  

He was born in 1961 to his parents, Louie and Angelina Zamora Chavez, and has two daughters. Edward enjoyed many different hobbies, which included sketching and painting. He had a love for woodworking, and a passion for low riders, especially his 1977 Monte Carlo.  

Edward loved to act silly and make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time around his family, whom he loved dearly. Edward’s character and the way he carried himself are what made him stand out from everyone else. He was always willing to help others and put them before himself. Edward especially loved and would do anything for his granddaughters.  

His life was a blessing and his memory will forever be treasured.
