Elisabeth Ann Bernal

Elisabeth Ann Bernal, age 75, a resident of Punta de Agua, N.M., passed away, to be with our Lord, on July 5, 2023.

Betty graduated from Belen High School in 1966 and after, she worked for the Horizon Corporation in Rio Communities as a secretary. Later, she gained employment with the New Mexico Department of Labor as a secretary and a language interpreter, retiring with 25 years of service.

Betty completed a two-week course driving a semi-truck at a truck driving school in Fresno, Calif. Her classmates named her CB handle “The Little One.”

Betty exuded inner and outer beauty; she was absolutely beautiful. Betty was kind, resilient, generous and, without hesitation, was always giving to strangers. She treated everyone with dignity and respect and never judged anyone; she was a woman of integrity.

Betty was a wonderful daughter and she loved and cared for both her parents and brother. She was always there for her family. Betty was compassionate about her pets; she loved them dearly and devoted her time to them.

She loved music and sang her father’s songs that he composed, and she liked to dance. She enjoyed shopping and, in her earlier years, one of her hobbies was painting still life, especially floral arrangements. She also did modeling of her hair and clothing.

Betty had many friends who loved her. Our family will deeply miss Betty; she will be, “Forever in our hearts.”

Betty was preceded in passing by her parents, Frank and Terecita Bernal; sister, Erma Patterson; brothers, Guillermo “Willie” and Eddie; brother-in law, Charlie Patterson; niece, Carol Gutierrez; and great-nephew, Kevin Revak.
