Los Lunas

The Golden Star restaurant will now be serving beer and wine to its patrons. On April 18, the Los Lunas Village Council approved a liquor license for the restaurant located at 959 NM 314, Suite A and B.

In other action, the council:

  • Approved an ordinance for the term of office for planning and zoning commission officers. The amendments require that commissioners be selected from districts for staggered terms of up to two years. There is no term limit. The appointment of all commissioners will continue to rest in the hands of the mayor and council.
  • Tabled the application submitted by Tierra West LLC on behalf of The Home Depot, which submitted an application for a preliminary plat for parcels of land of Huning Limited Partnership within the San Clemente Grant, for the purpose of building the retail center. The Los Lunas Village Council will act on the item at its May 9 meeting.
  • Councilor Gerard Saiz thanked employees of the village for their assistance following the death of his uncle, Arturo Sais recently. He sent a special thanks to Utilities Director Betty Behrend and to Police Chief Nick Balido for helping with traffic.
