Jeffrey Clark Abeyta 

1966-2024 

Jeffrey Clark Abeyta, age 57, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2024, after a long battle with multiple medical issues.  

Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, with a visitation at 10 a.m. and a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel.  

He is survived by his mother, Helen Abeyta, of Belen; brothers, Rydell Abeyta, of Truth or Consequences, and Patrick Abeyta, of Choctaw, Okla.; sister, Vicki Hurbina (Eddie); uncle, Marvin Miller, of Edmund, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Abeyta.  

He was born April 4, 1966, in the Belen General Hospital. Jeff was well known for his willingness to help others in such things like their stuck vehicle, flat tires, even a victim of an automobile accident.  

He operated the Abeyta & Sons Radiator Shop, worked in the postal services and in sales for funeral service in Albuquerque. The highlight of Jeff’s life was helping to raise his girlfriends’ baby, Jeffrey Chavez, age 9, since birth. Although not related, the two Jeffreys were close father and son.
