John David Tafoya 

1955-2024 

John David Tafoya, age 68, of Los Lunas, passed peacefully at his home on March 21, 2024.  

John was a crane operator before he retired. He loved to go to the race track, and his football team was the Denver Broncos. John loved to look at the mountains.  

During his final days, he expressed how he missed his sister, brother, mom and dad.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lorina Tafoya; his sister, Eileen Tafoya Reed; and his brother, Leroy Tafoya.  

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Gerald) Godeny; his grandchildren, Elysia, Evalynn, Elaina and Emmalea; his son, John David Jr. and his daughter, Samantha; brothers, Raymond, Paul, Michael (Deb) and Stanley Tafoya; his caregiver and niece, Jennifer Gonzales.  

John was loved by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, who loved and will miss him dearly.  

A grave side service will be held at 1 p.m. on his birthday, Saturday, April 13, at San Clemente Cemetery in Los Lunas. Please join us for a celebration meal for John, at 19 Park View Lane, Los Chavez.
