The Los Lunas Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a female suspect who assaulted a Walmart employee with pepper spray to make her getaway after allegedly shoplifting from the store.

Nov. 11 Walmart robbery suspect

At about 9:35 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, Los Lunas officers were dispatched to the Los Lunas Walmart in response to a report of a female who threatened an employee with pepper spray in order to escape with about $1,000 in unpaid merchandise.

During the preliminary investigation, officers learned the female suspect was accompanied by a male suspect, who was witnessed assisting the woman by pushing the basket with the stolen items out the exit doors. Officers learned the female suspect used the pepper spray by closing distance towards the employee in an aggressive manner, and threatened the employee with the pepper spray.
