Martin S. Anaya

Martin S. Anaya, age 72, a resident of Tomé, passed away peacefully on Aug. 25, 2023. 

A public viewing will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel in Belen, and a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.  

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé. Interment will be held at a later date.  

He is survived by his son, Martin Serafin Anaya; daughter, Angeline “Angel” Anaya Jordan and her husband, Billy Jordan; grandsons, Jacob, Matthew and Nicholas Jordan; granddaughter, Deziree Elizabeth Grace Anaya; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Serafin and Mollie Sedillo Anaya; sister, Mary “Julia” Anaya; grandmother, Carmelita Sedillo; and several aunt and uncles.  

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé, and avid motorcycle rider and lover of his Harley Davidsons. After a long career at Amtrak, he retired from the railroad. Martin then spent the rest of his days at his beloved farm.  

Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Serafin, Dennis Sanchez, and Bill, Jacob, Matthew and Nicholas Jordan.
