Sarah Hedden
Lasarita “Sarah” Hedden, of Belen, age 83, passed away on April 10, 2023.
Sarah was born on Sept. 19, 1939, in Belen, to parents, Geronimo and Margaret Pino. Sarah was one of seven siblings, Bill, Cornelio, Richard and Bernice Pino, Patsy Cordova and Lydia Baldonado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Geronimo and Margaret Pino; spouse, Otto Hedden; and children, Jerry, Amy, Jimmy and Robert Cordova.
Sarah is survived by her children, Eva Trujillo, Ernie Lopez, Eugene Lopez, Margie Hedden and Stacy Dominguez; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sarah moved to California in the 1950s, then returned to Belen in the early 1990s to care for her mother. She returned to California in 2022 to be cared for by her daughters.
In her younger years, she loved fishing and camping with the family. She enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with family and friends, telling stories and laughing about memories, listening to music and singing. Sarah had a generous heart and was loved by many friends and family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 7, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
