Phil H. Martinez Jr.
MCPO Phil H. Martinez Jr., USN (Retired), aka Marty, age 82, a resident of Los Lunas and the proud owner of Marty’s Muffler Shop, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022.
He was an avid golfer and loved working on cars. Phil was actively involved in the community, working with the Rio Communities Optimist Club and Belen Christian Church.
He faithfully served in the US Navy for 22 years serving in Vietnam and seeing the world.
Phil was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Jo; grandson, Troy J. Montoya and brother, Ivan Martinez.
He is survived by daughters; Tammy Jo and significant other, Sam Ortega, Sandra Garcia and husband, Gabriel, and Rebecca Martinez; brothers, Jack Martinez and wife, Irene; Louie Martinez and wife, Maureen; sister, Peggy Crespin and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Francine Razo and husband, Jesus, Danny Montoya, Alexis Dallas, and husband, Justin, Jack Jaramillo Jr. and significant other, Samantha, Jaclyn Jaramillo, Emily Mirabal and significant other, Johnathan, and Gabriel Garcia and significant other, Amber; great grandchildren, Arianna, Sofia and Jesus Razo, Samuel Jaramillo, Marianna Zamora, Jack III and Jasmine Jaramillo.
Phil is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lisa LaManna.
Pallbearers are Danny Montoya, Jack Jaramillo Jr. and Gabriel Garcia. Honorary will be Troy Montoya.
All services for Phil will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A visitation will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Details regarding a reception will be announced at services.
