Gerald Jerry Baca

1965-2020

Gerald Jerry Baca, age 54, a resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.

He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. Gerald enjoyed being with his family, and loved the L.A. Chargers.

Gerald was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Baca; father-in-law, Tony Padilla Jr.; aunts, Carmella Romero, and Martha Garcia; uncles, Venancio Baca and Mike Baca; and brother-in-law, Jake Tenorio.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirlee; children, Gerald Baca, Gynelle Garcia (Rob) and Carlos Chavez; parents, Benjamin and Bertha Baca; grandchildren, Melody, Cita, Natalie Bubba and Damien; sisters, Monica (Joe) Abeyta, Debra (Jake) Tenorio and Lizzy (Lorenzo) Ortiz; mother-in-law, Florela Padilla; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Padilla, Paula (Gerald) Solano and Tina Bibiano.

Gerald is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jacob, Yvette, Mariah Tenorio, Jason and Alexys Tenorio, Lawrence and Lance Ortiz, Aaron, Brandyn, Aaron and Tori Solano, Nancy Saiz, Gabby Bibiano, Timothy Sedillo, Emmanuel Aragon; and godson, Xzavion Montoya.

All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, Nov. 19, beginning with a Rosary at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required and social distancing must be maintained.

Readings will be given by Paula Solano and Tina Bibiano. Gifts will be presented by Catherine Padilla and Lizzy Ortiz; and the eulogy will be read by Brian Valencia.

Pallbearers are Jacob Tenorio, Jason Tenorio, Rick Quinonez, Alex Montoya, Aaron Solano, Timothy Sedillo, Lance Ortiz and Lawrence Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Chavez, Gynelle Garcia, and Gerald Baca.

Ralph A. DeBaca

1959-2020

Ralph A. DeBaca, age 61, a resident of Adelino, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.

He was born in October 1959, in Belen to Dan M. and Stella M. DeBaca. Ralph was the third of four children.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dan M. DeBaca; his mother-in-law, EllaMay Wilson; his grandson, Jeremiah Candelaria; his brother-in-law, Andres “Andy” Abeyta; and numerous relatives and friends.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, June Wilson DeBaca; his three children and their spouses, Anthony (Blanca), Mark (Stephanie) and Kristyna (Abe) Candelaria; grandchildren, Alexys, Liam, Orlando, Hayleigh and Brooke; his mother, Stella M. DeBaca; and his siblings and their spouses, Diana (Joel) Mireles, Daniel (Rosa Maria) and Renee; and numerous relatives.

Ralph served in the Army National Guard, was the proud owner of St. Anthony’s Healthy Heart Drink, was a beekeeper and enjoyed working his bees and extracting the honey. He enjoyed reading the Bible, and had a passion for music and loved playing his guitar.

Ralph was a great artist, liked watching sports and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be cherished for his quick wit and humor and on many occasions, had the ability to make people laugh. Ralph was extremely compassionate, caring and respectful of all people.

He would help anyone in need, even if he didn’t know them. Ralph will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be any services at this time. There will be a private (immediate family only) burial service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or donations, that you keep them in prayer and all those suffering and affected by the coronavirus.

Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Perea Frenzel

1939-2020

Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Perea Frenzel passed away as she lived, at home, peacefully, gracefully, and surrounded by her husband and daughters.

Lupe was an amazing spouse, mother, grandmother and sister, who will be remembered for her tranquility and strength as well as her love of books, art and music. She enjoyed laughing at silly things, gardening and flowers Peter cut from the garden. Her deep faith carried her through life and especially during her last years.

Cecilia (Barreras) Kirk

1944-2020

Our beloved Cecilia (Barreras) Kirk, 76, of Los Lunas, was called by our heavenly Father and passed on Nov. 9, 2020.

Cecilia was born to Meliton Barreras and Rosa Zamora, in Socorro, on March 3, 1944. Cecilia married the love of her life, David L. Kirk, in 1969, and they lived together in Los Lunas.

She is survived by Flora Lobley, her sister.

Together, Dave and Cecilia raised six children, Rose Ann Garcia (Leroy Garcia), Beverly Soto (Angelo Soto), Gladys Vigil (Victor Vigil), Micha Kirk, Jessica Farris (Avery Farris) and Ernest Kirk; stepchildren in Iowa, and many nephews and nieces. Cecilia is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

Cecilia attended Albuquerque High School. Cecilia was a foster parent for over 30 years and enjoyed working with children. She enjoyed camping and traveling. Cecilia will be greatly missed by many. May she rest in peace.

Theresa C. Margino

1931-2020

Theresa C. Margino, age 89, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020.

She was a member of San Clemente Parish, and a resident of Good Life Senior Living and Memory Care, where she resided for seven years due to a lengthy illness. Theresa enjoyed slot machines, bingo, traveling, as well as cooking and baking.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald C. Mangino Sr.; parents, Ernest and Victoria Cattenacci; and sister, Adelina Pino.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Victoria Rea and husband, David, of Los Lunas; son, Donald Mangino Jr., of Farmington; sister, Christine Sebastian, of Los Lunas; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Pistol) Mangino and wife, Anna, of Los Cruces, and Frank Mangino and wife, Mary, of Bernalillo. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Dionisio C. Salazar

1937-2020

Dionisio C. Salazar, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 13, 2020.

He was a lifelong resident of Belen. Dionisio was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, an Honorary Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Carpenter’s Union and worked for Walmart for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Eulalia C. Salazar; parents, Felix and Eusebia C. Salazar; brothers, Felix and Rodrigo Salazar; and sisters, Catalina Quintanilla and Jacinta Moctezuma.

Dionisio is survived by his loving children, Dionisio Salazar Castillo Jr., (Tomasita), Roberta (Ruben), Carmelita (Gustavo), Pablo (Nikki), Andres, Brenda and Monique; 14 grandchildren; and sisters, Ermelinda and Petra Salazar.

Services will be held privately due to COVID-19.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Gurule, Gustavo Rodriguez, Pablo Salazar, Andres Salazar, Dionisio Salazar Jr. and Dionisio Mariano Apodaca. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Thank you family and friends for all your prayers.

Gary Michael Wimberly

1946-2020

We are celebrating the life of Gary Michael Wimberly, a kind and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Gary was born in Belen July 23, 1946. At the age of 17, he met the love of his life, Lucy “Pixie” Fisher Wimberly, and the two were married for 56 wonderful years.

They have five children, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom, with Pixie, survive Gary. They are daughter, Shianne Smrt and husband, Richard, children, Jax and Neo; daughter, Shell Wimberly and children, Stoney, Ayzia, Brody and Mason and his daughter, Lilly, Jace and partner, Sydney, Nathan, Jenna and husband, David Rael with their daughters, Brook and Bexley; son, Shawn Wimberly and wife, Cyndi and children, Stormie, Kavon, Mariam, Lane and Casey and wife, Susan, with their children Richard and James; son, Shane Wimberly and wife, Amy, with children, Morgan, Tuff and Ty with children Bowen and Hunter; daughter, Shantell Anderson and husband, Todd, and children, Ashley and Amber. Gary is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Davis and wife, Judy.

Gary loved children, especially his own; he carried all his babies into the family home for the first time, telling them “give me a kiss.”

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Eugene and Geneva Murel Wimberly; his brothers, Grady Jr., Johnny and Jerry.

Gary and Pixie moved to Clovis in 1967, where he worked for the AT&SF Railroad. Gary and family moved back to Belen in 1969, and Gary, known as “GM” at the railroad, continued to work for the railroad until his retirement in 1998. During his career, Gary served as the local chairman for the switchmen union and filled several positions including conductor.

Gary was an accomplished outdoorsman, and took his children hunting, trapping, fishing and to many rodeos. He spent years buying and selling items and had good friends at the flea markets.

Gary passed away in his home Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, surrounded by family and his faithful dog, Buddy.
