Patricia Ann Sanchez

Patricia Ann Sanchez, 64, of Los Chavez, passed away at her home following an illness. Her family was at her bedside.  

Pat was born July 23, 1959, in San Diego, Calif., to the home of Filomeno and Erlinda (Gallegos) Flores. She grew up in Santa Rosa and Puerto De Luna, N.M., attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School through the eighth grade. She attended and graduated from Santa Rosa High School with the class of 1977. Following graduation, she attended New Mexico State University.  

Pat enjoyed making jewelry, pottery, playing her guitar, water aerobics, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.  

During high school, Pat volunteered at Guadalupe County Hospital as a candy striper, and worked for the Guadalupe County Extension Service. She worked for the A.S.C.S Office in Santa Rosa for a few years before moving to the Albuquerque, office where she worked until her retirement as an administrative assistant in 2002.  

Pat married David “Hossie” Sanchez at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna, N.M., on July 26, 1980. They made their home in Los Chavez in 1984.  

Pat is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Geronimo Gallegos; maternal grandparents, Margarita Martinez and Salomon Martinez; paternal grandparents, Cipriano and Pablita Flores; father and mother-in-law, Arsenio and Dora Sanchez; three sisters-in-law, Rita Sanchez, Monica Joan Sanchez and Christy Flores; a brother-in-law, Joe Silva.  

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Patricia will be missed by her husband, David “Hossie” Sanchez, of Los Chavez; two daughters, Jessica Goehner (Joshua), of Albuquerque, and Casie Feldkamp (Michael), of Louisville, Ken.; one son, Micah Sanchez, of Albuquerque.  

Also surviving are her parents, Filomeno and Erlinda Flores, of Puerto De Luna; two grandchildren, Martin Mangus Feldkamp and Ezekiel Filomeno Feldkamp, of Louisville, Ken.; three sisters, Barbara Chavez (Juan), of Fort Sumner, Deborah Salas (Joe), of Puerto De Luna, and Yolanda Sena (Leo), of Fort Sumner; three brothers, Michael Flores (Janice), of Monterey, Tenn., Phillip Flores (Renee), of Oxnard, Calif., and Andrew Flores, of Fort Sumner; two uncles, Leroy Gallegos, of Puerto De Luna, and Arsenio Gallegos, of San Antonio, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, her Sanchez family and many good friends.  

A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, 101-A N. 10th St., Belen. A Rosary, followed by the Funeral Mass, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 22, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 439 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, with Father Moses Nwankwo officiating. Burial will follow at the San Bar Ranch Family Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. 

Pallbearers will be Micah Sanchez, Michael Flores, Phillip Flores, Andrew Flores, Michael Feldkamp, Martin Feldkamp and Devin Vigil.
