Belen’s Dylan Jones, above, was fourth in the 100 breaststroke, the highest finish ever at the state meet for a BHS swimmer.

Albuquerque 

Belen concluded an excellent season with a 16th place showing out of 27 teams in the boys’ competition at the New Mexico State Swimming and Diving Championships at Albuquerque Academy.  

The Eagles’ Dylan Jones medaled in the 100 breaststroke by finishing in fourth place, the highest result ever for a BHS swimmer. Jones was 12th overall in the 200 individual medley.  

The Belen medley relay team of Jones, Cole Rodriguez, Diego Vigil and Nehemiah Sanchez took 10th.   

Rodriguez was 14th in the 100 backstroke, while Valencia’s Andres Burkhard came in 14th in the 100 breaststroke.
