Corrine Montoya Castillo 

1942-2024 

Corrine Montoya Castillo, age 81, a resident of Belen, went home to the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024.  

Services will take place on Monday, March 4, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a visitation at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.  

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gilbert Castillo; daughter, Claudine; son, Gilbert Ryan, of Arizona; siblings, Nellie Cordova, Odelia Williams, Mary Jane (Felix Romero), Josie (sister-in-law), Mercy (David Romero) and Tim Montoya. Corrine had many nieces, nephews and great nephews and nieces, whom she took great delight in.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Timoteo and Cipriana Padilla Montoya; siblings, Natividad, Amada Gregory, Claudio, Robert, Joe, Richard and Gilbert Montoya; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Gregory, Arthur Cordova and Bobby Williams.  

Corrine was a devout member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her delicious bread and kind and generous heart. Like her beautiful daughter, Claudine, she was charming with a beautiful smile and charismatic demeanor.  

Corrine was always willing to help or pray for anyone in need. She took care of many of her relatives prior to their deaths. You could always count on Corrine to lend a helping hand, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. As busy as she was, she found the time to advocate for the special needs-handicapped population.  

Corrine was not one to take no for an answer; she always sought solutions by serving on various boards and committees.
