Stella M. DeBaca

Stella M. DeBaca, age 93, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on March 26, 2024, surrounded by the love of her devoted children, sisters, their spouses, brother and her caregivers at her home in Adelino.  

Services will take place on Thursday, April 4, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, beginning with a visitation at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Tomé Catholic Cemetery.  

She is survived by daughter, Diana Mireles (Joel); son, Daniel DeBaca (Rosa); and her dear Angel “Renee” DeBaca; grandchildren, Bridget Rodriguez (Rene), Candace Ramirez (Jason) and Alejandro DeBaca; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emilio, Eric, Eli, Ean, Jason and Rafael; siblings, Bertha Barreras (Jerome), Tony Moya and Connie Baca (Lorenzo); sister-in-law, Margret Moya; and many nieces and nephews. 

Stella is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan M. DeBaca; and parents, Antonio and Emilia Moya DeBaca; son, Ralph A DeBaca; siblings, Amarante Moya, Lucy Peralta and Gilbert Moya; and many other relatives and friends.  

She was born in 1930 in Adelino to Antonio and Emilia Moya. Stella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She had a passion for persons with developmental disabilities.  

Stella’s family and friends will always remember her as the spirited, kind and caring person, who loved and lived for her children. She loved the Lord and always showed compassion and forgiveness.  

She was the first bus driver for students with disabilities in Belen and then a school bus driver for Belen Consolidated Schools for 25 years. Stella will be missed greatly by her family and everyone that knew her. Her strength, compassion, sense of humor and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.  

Pallbearers will be Alejandro DeBaca, Ethan Garland, Eric Rodriguez, Joel Mireles, Tony Moya and Boleslo Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel DeBaca, Rene, Emilio, Eli, Ean Rodriguez, Jason Ramirez and Rafael Ramirez.
