Beginning Thursday, July 4, the Valencia County News-Bulletin will be increasing the price of the weekly newspaper from 50 cents to $1.

Let us assure you, we have agonized for several months about increasing the price of your hometown newspaper. With that being said, the News-Bulletin has not increased our newsstand price for nearly 30 years. The price increase is reflective of the rising expenses we have experienced in the past several years.

If you are a current subscriber to the newspaper, you will not see an increase in your subscription price. As a matter of fact, the News-Bulletin is offering a wonderful offer to lock down the subscription price for another year.

Until July 1, current and new subscribers can lock up the savings for 2019 for a special price. Readers can purchase a newspaper to be delivered to their door for a year for only $42. That’s $10 off the newsstand price of $52.

Beginning on July 4, we also will begin locking down our website, news-bulletin.com. What does that mean? Unless you have a subscription to the Valencia County News-Bulletin, you will have limited access to our website. The price of your subscription will include free access to our website.

For those who don’t need or want a hard copy of the newspaper, a digital subscription to our website will be needed to gain access. A year digital subscription is $42.

A monthly digital subscription is $5 or you can pay 99 cents per story viewed, after July 4. If you just want to look at our website, you will be allowed five free views each month.

Please look for information about this offer in today’s newspaper or call the News-Bulletin office 505-864-4472 and ask about our “Lock Up the Savings” subscription offer.

As your hometown newspaper, please know that we care about each of our readers and welcome the opportunity to listen to your concerns and comments about our publication. Whether it’s a story idea, a circulation complaint or you just want to talk about something happening in the community, our door is always open.
