Angela “Angie” Granger
Angela “Angie” Granger, from Peralta, went home to her heavenly Father on March 24, 2023, at the age of 91.
She was born on March 18, 1932, to Processo Chavez and Aurora Castillo Chavez, of Peralta. Angie married Jerry Granger, and had their only son, Ronnie. She worked at Sandia Labs for more than 30 years until her retirement.
Angie was a devout Catholic, who loved and served God and belonged to the Servite Order (Order of Servants of Mary). In her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, she prayed constantly for many. She spent countless hours volunteering and attending services at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Peralta.
Angie was kind, loving and the most generous person, who put the needs of others before her own. She will be missed, not only by her family, but also by the many people whose lives she touched by her love and generosity.
Angie was proceeded in death by her parents, Processo and Aurora Chavez; her brothers, Milton, Robert, Raimie and Alex; and her great-granddaughter, Jessica Renee Granger.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Granger; her grandchildren, Ronnie Joe (Melinda), Jeremy (Rebecca), John Robert (Lela) and Shyanne Sanchez (Justin Portanova); 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Angie is survived also by her sister, Peral Baca; her goddaughters, Evelyn and Lenore; her brother, Charles Chavez (Lucy); sister-in-law, Elsie Chavez; and many loving nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Peralta. A visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 10 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Internment and reception will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall.
