With only one full week left in the regular season, basketball teams are making a final push to qualify for the state playoffs.   

In girls’ action, Adelina Villanueva, of Los Lunas, left, passes during Friday’s 47-34 victory over Manzano.  On Tuesday, Los Lunas (15-8, 6-1) defeated Santa Fe 40-26, to continue pressuring top dog Albuquerque High in the District 5-5A race.   

Belen (9-14,2-4) traveled Tuesday to Highland, winning 52-40.   

Valencia (14-9, 3-2) takes a three-game winning streak into Friday’s game at District 5-4A leader St. Pius.  

Tuesday, the BHS boys (8-15, 1-5) hosted Highland, falling to the Hornets 71-54.   

LLHS (6-1, 15-8) lost Wednesday for the first time in district play, falling at Santa Fe 55-44 (18-5, 5-2).
