Adalyn and his dad, Sensei Joshua Baca.

Sensei Joshua Baca was recently promoted to Sandan (Third-Degree Black Belt). Joshua Baca started training in 2000 at UNM-Valencia under Sensei Cindy Long when she was teaching Karate classes there. He made his way to the Dojo and has continued ever since.

There have been pauses along the way, such as serving in the U.S. Army Reserve in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, running his own business for years and then going back to college to receive his master’s degree in business administration.

He also married his wife, Leslie, and they are raising their two children in Los Lunas. Josh currently works for the Small Business Administration as a business operations specialist.

He continues to work hard to improve himself in his karate, his job, and with his family. Senseis Richard and Cindy Long are honored to have such a long-time dedicated student and friend.
