Event to educate public about cost reductions and benefits of new state-based insurance marketplace

Valencia County residents interested in learning about health insurance options can talk to beWellnm representatives who will be educating the public about the Open Enrollment Period and the financial assistance available for New Mexicans from 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Los Lunas Transportation Department, 101 Courthouse Road in Los Lunas.

BeWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, has opened enrollment for plan year 2022. Tens of thousands of New Mexicans are eligible to receive health insurance at little or no cost beginning Jan. 1, 2022.

This year’s open enrollment period also marks the transition from the federal marketplace to a state-based exchange, allowing beWellnm to bring better options to New Mexicans.

Representatives will meet with residents to educate them about the open enrollment period and find the most comprehensive and affordable health plans available.
They will help residents determine if they are eligible to receive low-cost insurance or steep discounts. Premiums may be completely eliminated for low-income families and individuals this year.

BeWellnm is offering dozens of plan options across multiple carriers, including dental insurance, during the open enrollment period. With free local enrollment assistance and financial assistance available, residents can select a plan to fit their health and budget for 2022.

For more information about the event please contact Victoria Green at (888) 451-7824.
