Brett Dean Crowther

Brett Dean Crowther, age 68, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024.

He was a graduate of Valley High School in Sanders, Ariz., and worked for BNSF Railroad for 32 years. Mr. Crowther took pride in the upkeep and maintenance of his home and community. He organized and led Jubilee Christmas Magic, decorating the entire community.

Mr. Crowther enjoyed playing golf and in tournaments with his friends and taught his daughters and granddaughter how to play. He was an avid cook, who enjoyed sharing his recipes with others; in addition, he enjoyed watching college sports, especially the University of Arizona and taking his family to Isotopes baseball games.

Mr. Crowther was involved in many local clubs and organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in Gallup, having served as exalted ruler 1997-98, Isleta Golf Club, Jubilee Golf Club, having donated a putting green to the Jubilee Community, St. Mary’s Belen golf coach and the Neighborhood Watch captain. He lived in sobriety for more than 25 years, and he was the Jubilee Chile cookoff champion in 2019. Mr. Crowther enjoyed classic rock, including the Eagles and Dire Straits.

Mr. Crowther befriended every person with whom he crossed paths and had the ability to make each person feel important; always looking you in the eye and listening to what you were saying. Of most importance to him was family, being a grandpa was his favorite part of life, even having traveled to California to watch his granddaughter dance in a Disneyland parade.

He loved golfing with all of his girls in Hawaii and teaching his daughters to ski when they were young, as well as spoiling the family dog, Holly.

Mr. Crowther was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Patricia Crowther; brothers, David Crowther and Robert Seth Crowther; brother-in-law, Tony Castillo; and niece, Theresa Crowther.
