Celedon Aragón

Celedon Aragón, the youngest of 15 children, a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called to heaven on Nov. 2, 2023, surrounded with love by his family.  

Born on Jan. 13, 1945, in Valencia, N.M., to humble beginnings, Celedon, would become a trained physicist, rocket and nuclear scientist, and a wise civil-rights leader advocating for the advancement of Hispanos in New Mexico. 

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his five children, Tim, Monica, Christina, Cisco and Carlo James (CJ); his five grandchildren, Ray, Angelica, Amy, Martin and John; and one great-grandchild, Madison. 

Services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta on Monday, Nov. 13, beginning with a visitation at 5 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. There will be a final visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 14, beginning at 11 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
