Clorinda (Peralta) Torres

Clorinda (Peralta) Torres, age 76, a resident of Belen, passed away on July 22, 2023.  

Clorinda was born in 1946 in Jarales, and later went on to raise her children in Mountainair, N.M. For the remainder of her life, Clorinda lived in Belen with her husband, Reymundo Torres. She was a loving and caring mother, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  

She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and loved New Mexican Spanish music. She was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  

Clorinda is preceded in death by her sons, Margarito and Anthony Lopez; parents, Phillip C. and Luciana Castillo Peralta; grandsons, Brian and Jacob Lopez; siblings, Florenio Peralta, Lenore Benavidez (Celestino), Felicita Fernandez and Mary Sanchez; and ex-husband, Julian “Billy” Lopez.  

She is survived by her husband, Reymundo Torres; sons, Julian (Katrina), Steven (Angela) and Nathan Lopez (Jenny); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie (Pauline), Alex (Elaine) and Bobby Peralta (Lucy); brother-in-law, Joe Fernandez; and sister-in-law, Lena Peralta.  

Services for Clorinda were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Monday and Tuesday, July 31 and Aug. 1. Clorinda will be laid to rest at a later date in Abo, N.M.  

Bearing her urn will be her grandson, Julian K. Lopez.
