Anthony Joseph Trujillo

Anthony Joseph Trujillo, 70, passed away on July 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  

He was born on July 5, 1953, in Los Angeles, Calif., and lived a beautiful life in Belen, Los Lunas and Albuquerque.  

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo Trujillo Sr. and Mary Barreras; and his brothers, Milton Trujillo, Larry Trujillo and Roland Trujillo.  

He is survived by his children, Antoinette Trujillo and Jackie Lasley (Jim Lasley), daughters of Betty Lugo; Chantel Trujillo (Andrew Vallejos), daughter of Rosemarie Romero; and Jarrod Tesch (Sabryna Garcia) and Symone Trujillo, son and daughter of Suzette Tesch; his grandchildren, Jordaine Trujillo (Bridgette Hinson), Sunaiya Trujillo (Brandon Aldana), Dayvien Lasley, Draven Lasley and Jeremiah Tesch; and his great-grandchild, Sapphyra Pineda; brothers, Eliseo Trujillo Jr., Louis Trujillo (Gloria Trujillo), Reginald Trujillo (Linda Trujillo) and Leon Trujillo (Doreen Trujillo); and sisters, Susan Baca (Cris Baca), Eleanor Hawthorn, Debbie Martinez, Diane Maldonado (Joe Maldonado) and Bernadine Montoya (David Montoya).  

Anthony, aka The Hop, aka Holmes, is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and countless friends, and will be missed dearly. We love you, daddy, pops, grandpa, tata.  

Anthony adored his family and dedicated his life to them, and to sports. At any given moment, you could find him on somebody’s couch watching either the Dodgers, Lakers, Rams or Lobos, or at the track betting on a horse race.  

He was the smartest man around.  

Pallbearers will be Jordaine Trujillo, Sunaiya Trujillo, Sapphyra Pineda, Dayvien Lasley and Draven Lasley. Honorary pallbearers are Jim (Bon) Lasley, Jarrod Tesch and Andrew Vallejos.  

Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Immaculate Conception Church in Tomé, with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m., a rosary at 11:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at noon. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. A celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m., at the Moose Lodge, 2121 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque.
