Come together to honor his life.  

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Elijah David Marquez, a beloved father, partner, son, brother, grandson and nephew, on March 30, 2024, in Seattle, Wash., at the age of 25. The sudden death leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.  

Elijah was born Sept. 27, 1998, in Oceanside, Calif., to Andrea Marquez and Joseph Marquez. A loving father, Elijah leaves behind his adoring children, daughter, Ariah Marquez, son, David Marquez, and soon-to-be-born, Rusila Marquez.  

He will be forever remembered by his parents, Joseph Marquez and Andrea Marquez; along with his sister, Wynter Marquez; grandpa, Andrew and grandma, Elda Sanchez; grandmother, Simona Marquez; uncle, Jeffery; auntie, Yvonne; and cousin, Grace Marquez; uncle, Roy; aunt, Suzie; cousins, Vanessa and Gaberial Marquez; uncle, Harry; aunt Maggie Marquez; and cousins, Anthony and Andrew Marquez; uncle, Gil; auntie, Elizabeth Castro; uncle, Nickolas Johnston; uncle, Adam and Rose Sanchez Burgueno; and cousins, Alyshia, Adam and Dahlia. 

He proceeded in death by his grandfather, Harry Marquez Sr.; grandma, Seraida Welch; and great-grandparents, Ramon and Rusila Ira Pino, who baptized him.  

Elijah shared a beautiful partnership with Diana Ochoa, together they built a life filled with dreams, challenges and love.  

Beyond being a family man, Elijah was passionate about his future, family and career. His enthusiasm was infectious, inspiring those around him to engage fully with life’s pleasures and curiosities.  

A memorial service will be held for Elijah’s life and to share the joy, love and laughter he brought to so many.  

Elijah’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones, his spirit and love will continue to guide and comfort his family.  

Services for Elijah will be held Thursday, April 25, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m., a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., followed by the burial and reception.  

Urnbearers will be Wynter Marquez and Vanessa Marquez.
