Frances Sanchez, age 76, a cherished member of her community and the loving heart of her family, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Aug. 6, surrounded by her loved ones.

Frances dedicated more than 10 years of service as a bus driver for Belen Consolidated Schools, and transformed daily bus rides into meaningful journeys filled with warmth and joy, leaving a lasting impression on the many lives she touched.

A passionate gardener, Frances’s home was a vibrant testament to her love for nature’s beauty. She cherished the laughter of her family, a melody that filled their home with love and joy.

Frances is survived by her devoted husband, Sisto Sanchez; her loving daughter, Francine Pena (Albert Pena); cherished granddaughters, Desiree Luera (Sam Luera) and Makayla Pena (Reyes Moreno); and her adored grandsons, Gabe Sanchez (Rachel Stemple), Nathan Sanchez (Naomi DeBlassie) and Kage Pena. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arturo and Amalia Chavez; and her son, Dean Sanchez.

Frances’ legacy of love, service and infectious laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her physical presence will be profoundly missed, but her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire and guide her beloved family and friends.
