1955-2023 

Gilbert Guadalupe Moya, age 68, born in Peralta, passed away on Dec. 16, 2023, at his home in Los Lunas.  

Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, with a visitation at 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, followed by a Rosary at 12:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1 p.m. A reception will follow.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia Moya; son, Nicholas Moya (Vanessa); daughter, Renee Delafuente; grandchildren, Eric Huezo, Isaac Martinez, David Moya II, Dominique Moya, Denessa Moya, Penelope Moya and Delilah Moya; great-grandchildren, Luciano Alverado and Eliahn Alverado; brother, Elfego Moya (Bonjo); and sister, Francis Garcia (Frank). 

Gilbert was born on Dec. 12, 1955, to Quirino and Mary Apodaca Moya in Albuquerque. After graduating from Los Lunas High School, he went on to work as an electrician before finding his passion in the well water industry. Gilbert then became a successful small family business owner doing what he loved, providing life-sustaining water to those in need.  

He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1982, and together they have three children, Renee, David and Nicholas. Gilbert loved helping others and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved nature and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Gilbert was a kindhearted soul and loved giving back to the community by playing Santa Claus for children. Gilbert’s door was always open for family and friends to stop by and give helpful advice or just to lend an ear and listen. He had a distinctive laugh that you could hear throughout the whole house, which couldn’t help but put a smile on your face.
