Helen Margaret Goldberg (Roybal)

1945-2023

Helen Margaret Goldberg (Roybal)

Helen “Grandma” Margaret Goldberg, age 78, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Dec. 13, 2023.

The name, “Grandma,” stuck because she really was like a grandma to everyone. She was one of the most caring and giving people around. What she loved most were her grandchildren. Any chance she was given, she would talk about how proud she was of them. She loved unconditionally and would provide all she could to her family and those closest to her.

On weekends, Helen could be found selling jewelry at the flea market or going to garage sales. She loved hanging out with her friends and going to lunch at Rutilios in Belen. She worked hard her entire life, whether that be selling jewelry or working with her beloved husband, Bob.

The family would like to thank Fiesta Park Rehabilitation and Wellness for their wonderful care and compassion for Helen, our Mom, our Grandma. The family would especially like to thank her nurses and caregivers, Rhama, Zada, Catalena and Armando.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Goldberg; son, Melvin Goldberg; parents, Daniel and Ofelia Roybal; and brothers, Daniel, Ricky and Albert Roybal.

Helen is survived by her sons, Robert Jr. and Jamie Goldberg (Sandra); grandchildren, Melanie (Steven), Daniel (Alexa) and Flora Goldberg, Bobbie Marcum (Johnathan) and Samuel Teegarden; great-grandchildren, Victor Valles, Mia, Max, and Mason Marcum, Easton Lopez and Theodore Goldberg; brothers, Manuel and Ron Roybal; and sister, Lena Bujanda.

Services for Helen were held on Monday, Dec. 18, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a viewing at 9 a.m., followed by a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Victor Valles, Samuel Teegarden, Max and Johnathan Marcum, Ricky Roybal and Steven Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Marcum, Easton Lopez and Theodore Goldberg.

Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., 505-864-4448, where an online guest register is available at noblin.com.
