Henry Jaramillo

1928-2023

Henry Jaramillo

A husband, a daddy, a grandfather, a great-grandfather and even a great, great-grandpa, he was our pillar, our mentor, our role model, our teacher, our counselor, our friend, our hero, our dance partner, our valentine, our heart.

On Aug. 20, 2023, our papa went to be with his maker.

He dedicated his life to helping people through his work at Ranchers (State) Bank, the University of New Mexico, the New Mexico State Police Board, and the Federal Reserve Small Business Advisory Board, along with so many others in his service to the community. He was so much to so many — “a brilliant man who lived a huge life.”

Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Elsie; his daughters, Paulette (Dennis Hale), Judy Janelle (Glen Haikin) and Cristina (Steven Baldonado); grandchildren, Erica (Benjamin), James (Anne), Triana (Trenton), Troy, Breanne, Jenna, Monique, Michael, Jenny, Bryan and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ben III, Stefon, Damion, Mercedes, Christopher, Lila, Isabel and Sophia; and great-great grandchildren Ben IV, with two more blessings on the way; surviving brothers, Gillie and Jerry (Nury); and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry T. and Casianita; siblings, Eddie, Lucy, Alfonso, Lena, Rose and Barbara; and his sons, Eric and Eddie.

He was a God-loving man, who worked hard to give his family the world. He was our world. He lived 95 beautiful years and we have been so very blessed to have been given so many years with him.

Although we mourn his loss, we rejoice in the blessing of having shared so many beautiful memories with him. How blessed we were to have had this precious man, who made saying goodbye so hard.

Now, we send our papa back to spend eternity in the arms of our Saviour. At this moment, I picture him with his two sons, Eric and Eddie, dancing in heaven, singing praises that he is home.  Daddy, we love you! You will always be in our hearts.

Please join us as we remember him, Saturday, Sept. 23, with a visitation at 1 p.m., and a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Abundant Life Christian Center, 105 Avenida Del Fuego, Rio Communities, with a reception to follow. For information email [email protected].
