Connie S. Marquez

Connie S. Marquez, 77, a resident of Los Lunas for 40 years, passed away Sept. 6, 2023, peacefully at home with her beloved husband.  

Connie is survived by her, husband Roy H. Marquez, of 52 years; daughters, Michelle Marquez, 49, and Melissa Marquez, 41, both of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Miranda Ibuado, 31, and Holly-Ann Alarcon, Edward, 29, and wife, Alyssa Marquez, Santiago, 28, and wife, Mckenzie Marquez, Mariah Ibuado, 27, and Gabriel Urtiaga; granddaughters, Mariana, 18, Anjolie, 16, Jocelyn, 3, and Lyliana Mares, 21; great-granddaughter, Amaya Marquez, 2 months; brother, Gilbert Sedillo; sisters, Beatrice Bauman, of Tennessee, Linda Sedillo, and her beloved baby sister, Nelda Sedillo.  

Connie was born Dec. 7, 1945, in Veguita, to Eloy V. Sedillo and Rubie Sedillo. Connie lived in Veguita, Albuquerque, Marquez and Los Lunas.  

Connie enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, talking and family gatherings. She spent and dedicated her time to providing her husband home-cooked meals and a lifetime of laughs.  

Connie was a devoted wife, mom and nana to her two daughters, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Eloy V. and Rubie Sedillo; and many other loved family members.  

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Miranda, Edward, Santiago, Mariah, Mariana, Anjolie and Jocelyn. Honorary pallbearers are Amaya Marquez, Alyssa Marquez, McKenzie Marquez, Gabriel Urtiaga, Holly Alarcon, Lylianna Mares, Grant Baltazar and Steve Sanchez.  

To my beloved grandchildren: my sunshine, Randa Panda, my chop liver, negrito feo, my wedito, feo Flaco Jimenez and my consentida, Ria, my nurse, my greatest pleasure was holding you in my arms first and bringing you home. Now it would give me great pleasure that you carry me home! Love Nana and her four shadows.  

Nana loves her Munica consentida, fea and her hita, Rota, and to all her cherished and beloved family and friends, thank you all for a lifetime of love, laughter and tears she loved you all.  

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Services are to begin at 9 a.m. with a visitation, followed by a Rosary at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
