Janice Eugenia Boring Robertson

1933-2024

Janice Eugenia Boring Robertson

First and foremost, Jan loved and honored her Lord and Savior above all else. She was a devoted servant, always working to spread His word.

Janice passed from this life on Feb. 26, 2024, at the age of 90 years old.

She is survived by her beloved church family, two sons, John E. Robertson and wife, Tina, of Albuquerque, and Ronald L. Robertson and wife, Alix, of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Mary Charlotte, April Marie, Jessica Lynn and James Edward; three great-grandchildren, Aimee Leigh, Mia Noelle and Leo Rafael; one sister, Linda Adkins of Kennewick, Wash.; her wonderful caregivers, Mary, Yolanda, Gen and caring staff at Bosque Farms Beehive Homes.

Jan is preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 65 years, John Cortice Robertson; son, Thomas Evans Robertson; parents, Gus Evans Boring, of Snead, Okla., and Erema Susan (Alsup) Boring, of Dekalb, Mo.; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Jan loved people and loved to laugh. She had a joke ready for everyone upon entering the door or answering the phone. She spent her life always trying to help others. She loved to work crossword puzzles and spend time with her cats on the patio, watching and feeding the birds. She loved watching baseball and was a devoted Arizona Diamondbacks fan.

Jan highly excelled at her job at Sandia National Labs, receiving top honors and retiring with more than 25 years of exemplary service.  She served as secretary as well as Children’s Bible Class teacher at Bosque Farms and Valley Church of Christ. She was lovingly known by all as “Miss Jan.”

She ran a very successful prison ministry and brought many people to the Lord. Her work for the Lord was unfaltering. Her constant prayer was, “Asking God’s hand of safety, protection, guidance and saving grace on her family and to save all in the world who don’t know the Lord before it is everlastingly too late!”

She was deeply loved and highly respected. She was a shining beacon. She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Services will be held at Valley Church of Christ, 407 NM 314 NW, Los Lunas, at 11 a.m., Friday, March 29, with burial immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE, Albuquerque.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, 1356 N.M. 236, Portales, NM, 88130.
