BELEN — A Jarales man died in a motorcycle crash this morning.

Shortly after 7 a.m., Thursday, June 29, Dylan Arroyo, 29, of Jarales was traveling north on N.M. 314, on the north side of the city Belen.

A motorcyclist died this morning after striking this Ford F150 on N.M. 314.

Belen Police Chief James Harris said Arroyo was traveling at an unknown rate of speed.

“A silver F-150 was pulling out of Salaz Road going southbound on 314,” Harris said. “The motorcycle struck the driver side of the truck just in front of the door.”

Salaz Road is about a block north of the Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley.

Arroyo died at the scene, the chief said. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Harris said he doesn’t expect charges to be brought against the driver of the truck.
