Leonard Otero

Leonard Otero, 52, beloved husband, son, father, uncle, brother, son-in-law, grandfather (Babu), and father-in-law, was called to his eternal resting place on Dec. 25, 2022.

He entered this world on Aug. 15, 1970, in Albuquerque, born to Jimmy and Rosie Otero.

He is preceded in death by Jimmy Otero, Rosie Otero, Monalisa Davenport, Ryan Davenport, Levi Montoya, Kabria Castille and James Michael Otero.

He is survived by his wife, Cassandra Otero; son, Juaquin Justice Otero; daughter-in-law, Brianna Otero; granddaughter, Mazelee Otero; grandson, Reid Otero; sister, Rosemary Montoya (Jerry); sister, Susan Garcia (David); brother, Steven Otero (Jeanette); brother, James Otero; sister, Theresa Weileman (Steve); sister, Renee Haynes (Michael); brother, Matthew Otero (Sopheak); brother, Mark Otero (Adelita); brother, Abel Otero; sister-in-law, Matilda Castille; sister-in-law, Masina Gillispie (Curtis); father-in-law, Leon Castille; mother-in-law, Maxiline Castille; and brother-in-law, Delbert Davenport; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and honorary children and grandchildren.

Leonard graduated from Belen High School. He loved traveling the world, camping, golfing and fishing. He also loved sharing his journey with friends and family on social media.

Leonard did not want a memorial service; however, his family wanted to give friends and family who may not have had an opportunity to say goodbyes. A visitation was held on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
