Los Lunas High School was packed Saturday with top wrestlers during the Tom Torres Invitational Duals.

With a field that included several of the best wrestling teams in New Mexico, Los Lunas finished third Saturday at the Tom Torres Invitational Duals at Los Lunas High School.

The Tigers were second in their pool after losing 33-30 to Atrisco Heritage Academy. LLHS rebounded to defeat Piedra Vista 54-18 in the third-place match.

The Tigers had four wrestlers go undefeated Saturday during the Tom Torres Invitational Duals at Los Lunas High School.

In the lone head-to-head showdown of local teams, Los Lunas junior varsity, which took sixth, defeated Valencia 54-24. The Jaguars were eighth in the 10-team field.

Undefeated wrestlers for Los Lunas, including forfeits, were Ernie Gonzales, Jonathan Trujillo, Logan Talley and Santiago Hurbina.

Noah Chavez was unbeaten for LLHS junior varsity, while Yovan Suarez, Richard Madrid, Elijah Duran and Omar Estrada had perfect records for VHS.

Cleveland defeated Atrisco Heritage Academy 54-18 in the championship match.

At Capital High School in Santa Fe, Belen captured the championship Saturday in the Jaguar Invitational.

Josh Jaramillo, Tommy Freeman, Diego Avila, Damion Gomez and Augustine Lopez brought home individual titles.
