LOS LUNAS — Crews are scheduled to restrict N.M. 6 (the Main Street bridge) crossing the Rio Grande to one lane in each direction for about one-half mile over the river from Sunday, Nov. 15, through Friday, Nov. 27.

Lane restrictions are needed to allow construction of tie-ins to the new bridge.

Motorists using N.M. 6 should expect delays and use extra caution in the construction area.

Construction began on the project to replace the Main Street bridge crossing the Rio Grande in Los Lunas in November 2019 and is expected to continue through spring of 2021.

FNF is the contractor for the project. Regular work hours are 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, although the contractor may work evenings or weekends as needed.

In addition to bridge replacement, the project also includes utility improvements, ADA ramps and erosion control for the area.

For updated construction information, visit nmroads.com.

All construction is weather permitting and subject to change without notice.
