Many of New Mexico’s top high school runners went stride for stride in the Red vs. Green All-Star Cross Country competition Saturday at Los Lunas High School.

It started with a 5000-meter fun run featuring underclassmen, both boys and girls. Charlie Vause, of Rio Rancho, (15:57) and Grace Montoya, of Los Alamos, (20:36) posted the fastest times. Isaac Gonzales, of Los Lunas, (18:47) also competed.

The Red vs. Green showcase was restricted to seniors, with Skylar Galbraith, of Rio Rancho, (17:04) and Ariana Thiel-Hadjilam, of La Cueva, (19:54) winning their divisions.

Valencia’s Victor Ramirez (19:37) also took part.

This was the second annual Red vs. Green Cross Country All-Star meet, sponsored by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association.
