Ron and Debbie Ridley, of Los Lunas, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 10. The couple was married in the Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene in 1973.
Ron retired with the rank of senior master sergeant from the New Mexico Air National Guard, where he was employed as a full-time Air Guard technician in January 2008. Ron graduated from Belen High School in 1970 and joined the Air Guard in 1971. He enjoys hunting, fishing, trap shooting and spending time with his family and friends.
Debbie worked for the Valencia County Clerk for 42 years and retired in 2016. Debbie graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1972 and started working for the county in 1974.
Debbie also enjoys fishing and spends her free time reading, watching movies and going out and visiting with family and friends.
The couple has two daughters, of whom they are very proud, Jennifer, who is married to Jason Sellers, of Albuquerque, and Jamie, also of Albuquerque. They are the grandparents of Jennifer and Jason’s sons, Ethan and Landon.
They attend the Valencia County Cowboy Church and attribute the success of their marriage to their faith in Jesus Christ, who has brought them through the few hard times and health issues they have experienced through the past 50 years.
The couple has cultivated numerous friendships and acquaintances throughout the years and wishes to thank all the family and friends who have shared their support and love.
Ron and Debbie have plans for a belated anniversary celebration with their daughters and family in December at Disneyland.
