Jerry and Rose Mary Montoya of Jarales will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary on April 27 with renewal of their wedding vows at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall. All family members and friends are invited to attend the celebration. The couple requests no gifts, please.

The Montoyas were married on April 29, 1972, at the Tomé Catholic Church.

Jerry is a semi-retired plumber who graduated from Los Lunas High School and attended the University of Albuquerque. He is a member of the Valencia County Sheriff’s Posse and is a sacristan at Our Lady of Belen. He enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fishing and running.

Rose Mary is owner-operator of Mini Farm Daycare. A graduate of Los Lunas High School, she attended the University of Albuquerque and is a lector at Our Lady of Belen. She enjoys arts and crafts and gardening.

The Montoyas have three children, Mario Montoya of Jarales, Luciano Montoya and wife, Christy, of Dayton, Ohio, and Santiago Montoya and wife, Randie, of Jarales. They have four grandchildren, Tiffanie, James Paul, Bailey and Levi.

Their children planned the celebration as a surprise for them.
