Last year’s event was a resounding success with antiques, photographs and unusual items proudly presented by local residents.

Once again, this year people are encouraged to bring items for display or just to come and admire the wide spectrum of history that resides in homes all across the county at the Second Valencia County Historical Road Show, on Sunday, Oct. 29.

People with historic memorabilia, photographs, art, etc., are encouraged to bring their personal treasures to be evaluated for their historic content by local experts. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Most Historical, Most Unique and People’s Choice.

Items may have historic relevance to the United States, the state of New Mexico or Valencia County.

Entries will be accepted from 1:30-2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, and must be small enough to be exhibited on a table. Results of the judging will be announced at 4 p.m.

Only the first 100 items to be presented will be accepted (no firearms). Exhibitors from last year are encouraged to return, although last year’s winners will only be eligible for the People’s Choice award.

No appraisals will be provided, and no items will be sold or left at the museum.

Although no fee will be charged for either entrants or visitors, a $5 donation to benefit the Valencia County Historical Society is encouraged.
