Shirlee Baca

Shirlee Baca, age 53, of Belen, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on March 1, 2024.

Shirlee is preceded in passing by her father, Antonio Padilla; husband, Jerry Baca; aunt and godmother, Carmela; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alberto Sanchez and Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Padilla.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Carlos Chavez; mother, Florela Padilla; sisters, Tina Bibiano, Paula Solano, Catherine Padilla and partner, Cory Lopez; as well as her fur babies, especially, Bobo and Maria; many nieces, nephews and cousins, who she all loved so much. Shirlee also leaves behind a group of friends who were always by her side, Julie, Lupita, Annette, Helen, Marcella, Denise and Elizabeth.

Shirlee was a parishioner of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, a member of the local American Legion and the Belen Moose Lodge.

Shirlee had a big heart, and it reflected through all the rescued animals she’d bring home and call her own. She was a volunteer within the local community and always shared her generosity and kindness with those in need. She loved her country music and above all else, spending time with her family. She was the light of the family.

Services for Shirlee were held at Our Lady of Belen Church on Tuesday, March 12. She was placed to rest at the Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens following the Mass.

Pallbearers were Brandyn, Aaron, Timothy, Emmanuel, Anthony and Alex.

Arrangements were handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, where an online guest register is available at noblin.com.
