Susan Granger Lewis

1955-2023

Susan Granger Lewis, age 67, a resident of Valencia County, was taken to her eternal home with the Lord on May 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Services are currently pending.

She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Susan was born September 25, 1955, to Paul Fiquet and Lola Maynard Fiquet. She graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1973. Susan was a lifelong member of our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Jeremy (Rebecca) and Jennifer Abers; brother, Paul Fiquet (Bonnie); sisters, Linda Boyer, Carol Magna (David), and Helen Walton (Eddie); grandchildren, William Abers, Alexis Romero, Jolee, Lucas and Marcas Granger, Alexis and Casey Herrell; nephews, Roger and Phillip; and nieces, Sabrina, Amber, Brianne, Dolores and Elasha.

Susan is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Lewis; parents; brother, Jackie; and son-in-law, Moises Romero.

She worked multiple jobs to support and care for her family with a dream of putting herself through college. Susan was passionate about becoming a nurse and worked full-time while attaining a nursing degree. With pride and dedication, she delivered professional and compassionate nursing care to those in our community for over 34 years.

Although Susan was faced with many life-altering challenges during her nursing career, she never lost sight of the needs of her patients or those around her. In addition to Susan’s passion for nursing, she was dedicated to her family, friends and community and welcomed everyone into her home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Granger, William Abers, Paul Fiquet, Eddie Walton, Lucas and Marcas Granger; honorary pallbearer, Damen Sanchez Sr.
