The Women’s Golf Association enjoyed a full month of play days in April, beginning with a scramble on April 7, which was won by Marilyn Winters, Regina Trujillo, Dorothy Lindberg and Marla Wersonick.

The Partners’ Tournament, played on April 14, was won by Fran Griffeth and Wersonick, with Janice Prescott and Winters placing second.

First gross winners throughout the month, which included Wednesday and Saturday play days, were Berta Murzyn, two, and three-time winner Edie Redfearn-Moore for the 18-hole division and Beth Taylor, Cindy Hill and three-time winner Griffeth in the nine-hole division.

The first Ace Day competition of the season was played on April 21 with Griffeth winning the nine hole competition and Trujillo winning the 18 hole division.

Throughout the month, a birdie was scored by Trujillo and Murzyn had four. Murzyn, Kathy Burrow, Marilyn Jaramillo and Jeannie Burleson all scored chip-ins and Winters had two.

On Wednesday, April 28, a side competition for low putts was played with Winters winning in the 18-hole division and Hill winning in the nine-hole division.

A scramble, followed by the monthly meeting, was played on May 5 and the eclectic tournament will be played on May 12 and 19. Regular play days will be played on May 26 and on all Saturdays.
