Arrest warrants for an open count of murder and other charges have been issued for two men in relation to a fatal shooting in Meadow Lake Saturday night.

Deputies were dispatched to a home on Sportsman Drive shortly before 6 p.m., Saturday, March 2. They found Daniel Sandoval, 26, with multiple gun shot wounds, Valencia County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Joe Rowland said. Sandoval was at a relative’s home when he was shot.

“He was transported to the hospital and we later learned he was deceased,” Rowland said.

Two men were taken into custody, Rowland said.

Jesus Angel Garica, 32, of Peralta, and Alexandro Motelongo Murillo, 34, of El Paso, Texas, were questioned by detectives, found to be uncooperative, the sergeant said, and released.

Detectives were later able to establish probable cause and arrest warrants were issued for both men on an open count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence.

Garcia is described as a Hispanic male, about 180 pounds and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. Murillo is described as a Hispanic male about 150 pounds and 5 feet, 10 inches tall.

If anyone sees Garcia or Murillo, they are asked to call 911.
