Viola “Vi” Josephine Jaramillo

Viola “Vi” Josephine Jaramillo, age 83, a resident of Woodbridge, Va., passed away on Nov. 4, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1940, in Los Lunas to Albert and Mary Jaramillo.  

Services will be held at San Juan Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 18, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at San Juan Catholic Cemetery.  

She is survived by Earnest, her life partner of 22 years; three children, Janylle Koren (Vince Palmby), Darryl Sanchez and Michele Sanchez (Mark Burtschi); and two extended children; her grandchildren, Brent, Paige (Manny) and Taylor (Mizuki); 11 extended grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Havana, Tate and Luke; and two extended great-grandchildren; brother, Rudy Jaramillo and (Patsy); sisters-in-law, Geraldine Jaramillo and Nora Jaramillo; and the father of her three children, Adelino Sanchez (Carol). She had an abundance of loving nieces and nephews, and a host of lifelong friends. Her loving pets were Little Flower and Lucky.  

Vi was preceded in death by her son, Russell (Rusty) Sanchez; and her brothers, Clarence and Roy Jaramillo.  

Vi lived in New Mexico until moving with her family to Maryland in 1968. She was employed by the federal government for 35 years and retired as the director of Office of Small Business within the Department of Education. Vi was a parishioner at Our Lady of Angels Catholic church in Woodbridge, Va.
