1948-2023

Walter Eric Parsons

Walter Eric Parsons was born Feb. 9, 1948, in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of the late Elce and Virgie Parsons.

As a child, he traveled around the world with his parents as a military brat. They settled in Clovis, N.M., where he graduated from Clovis High School. His father was a member of the United States Air Force, inspiring Walter to join the United States Air Force as well in November 1966.

After Walter’s honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, he started a new career in California with the Sante Fe Railroad. He eventually moved back to Clovis, where he began working for the BNSF Railroad, from which he retired as a conductor supervisor.

Walter was an active member of the Masons of Rio Abajo Lodge No. 17 of New Mexico since January 1990. Walter met his lovely wife, Alice Luster, in 1983 and they wed in 1991, and with this union gained the most amazing family.

On Sept. 14, 2023, Walter was called home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elce and Virgie Parsons; his loving wife, Alice Mae Parsons; Lee Brent; two sons, Tony Harrison and Demetrius Cameron; and his brother, Kenneth Brent.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Kila Parsons, Bridgett Goins (Edward), Connie Spears (Audrey), Sonya Ervin (Timothy) and Cheryl Hubbard (Gary); sons, Rodney Harrison, Gary Harrison and Cecil Berryman (Shannon); stepbrother, Adolph Pearson; four brothers, Bruce Parsons (Retha), Victor Brent (Darlene), Vernon Brent and Jonathan Brent (Tammy); two sisters, Lynetta Brent and Jovette Brent; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, whom he loved dearly.
