Ruben Padilla

1951–2024

Ruben Padilla

Ruben E. Padilla, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, with his family by his side.

His life was full of love and laughter with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ruben was a devoted husband to Dodie for over 52 years. She was his sweetheart. Together they created a beautiful family where he took on his proudest roles of dad and Tata. Being a dad to his daughter and three sons brought so much joy to his life. He loved spoiling his kids with love and anything that their hearts desired.

In his role of Tata, he made each of his grandchildren feel loved. He had a special connection with each one of his seven grandchildren. There was not a game, match or recital that was missed. They were his world.

He was a humble, kind and generous man who jumped at any chance to offer a helping hand to anyone and thank them for allowing him to help. He was a proud uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Ruben was a dedicated worker of BNSF Railway for over 38 years, which allowed him a very comfortable life for his family.

He will be remembered as a man who every man aspired to be. Ruben was a family man. When he wasn’t in Clovis, he was at his father’s house helping care for him in his last years. After his retirement, he stayed with his mother and father-in-law helping to care for them. Ruben has made a profound impact on all that were lucky enough to be a part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonefacia and Eduardo Barreras, Jesusita and Aldolfo Padilla; parents, Ernesto and Carlota Padilla; his mother-in-law, Nellie Sanchez; sisters, Helen (Albino), Lucy, Ramona (Wayne); brothers, Bennie, Eloy, Larry, Robert, Stanley; brother-in-law, Roland; sister-in-law, Veronica and his daughter, Rachel Archuleta.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Dodie Padilla; sons, Franco Padilla (Elena), Matthew Padilla (Casey), Andre Padilla (Samantha), Daniel Archuleta; grandchildren, Taeya, Matias, Khloee, Jordyn, Mia, Taylor and baby Lucas; father-in-law, Frank Sanchez; brother, David Padilla; sisters-in-law, Ruth Lopez (Dave) Pauline Chavez (Dennis), Janet Sanchez, Loretta Padilla and many nieces, nephews and family.

All services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., followed by a rosary at 10 a.m. and the funeral Mass at 11 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
